Travertine Limestone durango tile Master Bathroom installed using borders, inserts, chair rails, pencil liners and mosaic tile. This shower stall has many different design elements.
This Video is a series of photos taken during the installation of this Travertine tile master bathroom. What is illustrated here is the whole process of tiling a bathroom that has a lot of detail and many different tile elements that include Mosaic tile, travertine tile, borders, chair rail tiles, pencil liner, tile inserts, recessed niche, and even a window. The lower part of the tile walls consists of an eight inch travertine Durango limestone tile that had corners custom cut to allow the insert of the a mosaic tile "Dot". The upper part of the shower has the same tile installed without modifications. The middle of the tile walls has a "Sonoma" mosaic tile border installed between pencil borders made of a travertine material. The upper part of the walls has another border that is made from a mix of the same Sonoma mosaic tile used in the main border and the mosaic tile used on the shower floor and ceiling, with a travertine chair rail at the ceiling wall junction. The shower also incorporates a full length bench seat made of a natural stone slab. To keep the theme of the shower stall through the bathroom a twelve inch Travertine tile was installed square in the toilet area, and on a diagonal in the vanity area with a diamond in every other corner. The mirrors at the vanity were also surrounded by a border of mosaic tile and pencil liners.
It is very important to remember that travertine tile is very porous and must at all tiles be kept clean during installation, and also must be sealed with an appropriate sealer before grouting
Some of the setting materials used were "Tec" fullflex white thinset , Tec grouts and sealers.
