Defining variance
The variance of a set of data is defined as the mean of the squares of deviation of all the observation from their mean.
if variance is calculated from population, it is called population variance and is denoted by 𝝈^𝟐.
If variance is calculated from sample, it is called sample variance and is denoted by 𝑺^𝟐
