Recipe:

Ingredients:

130g All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
60 ml melted Ghee
40 ml water Approx.
Oil for deep frying

For Sugar Syrup:

1/4 kg sugar
40 ml water Approx. (as needed)
1 tsp lemon juice  & some saffron
1/4 tsp cardamom powder


Method:

Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and ghee in a large bowl.
Once it is mixed, add water little by little and mix well to a soft dough ( Don't knead the dough too hard).
Allow this dough to rest for 15 mins while you make the sugar syrup.
Add sugar and water to a pan and bring it to a boil.
Add lemon and saffron, then add cardamom powder.
Cook till it reaches one string consistency or tacky. Keep the syrup warm.
Roll up the dough into a tube form and cut it into the desired size.
Make the dough into balls and flatten them.
Make a dent in the centre. (Don't correct any cracks).
Heat oil and fry them until it turns golden brown. (On medium to low heat).
Now drain it and add it to the warm sugar syrup.
Let it soak for 3 to 4 minutes. Drain it and garnish it with pistachio or almond.
