After spending the previous 4 days in 4 different places we finally arrived in Tirana for 3 nights.
We saw all of the main sites in the city centre, Skanderbeg Square, Namazgah MosqueOrthodox Autocephaleous Church, the Dajti Ekspres cable car, FK Partizani stadium and the Bunk'Art 2 museum.
The highlight though found 19km away at Lake Bovilla. This bright blue lake supplies drinking water for most of Tirana. After paying 100LEK (around $1) we were able to climb the steps, pinned to the cliff face, for the most spectacular views at the top.
This diverse city is full of surprises and very good value for money, by western standards.
We should maybe try to visit again in the summer.
