Paroles françaises :

J'aurai cent ans

I'll be 100

I'll be 100
You, a little less
I'll lie down in the warmth
Of your dark circles' shade (1)
Like a return to the cradle
Like for my very last rest

I'll obstruct the winter
Of my sweetest laugh
I'll count your wrinkles
At the eyelid corners
I'll reread your wrinkles
So many memories are only ours.

You'd even forget them.
You'd even forget
(that) Yourself (you) forget
You'd even forget
(that) You forget me

But I'm 30
You, a little less
I misunderstand the words
That you want I surround (2)
Like a cowboy, his livestock
Like a man, his self-love.

I'm ashamed; it's war
Cashmere between us
Top reached, it's torrid
But the murderous wounds
Let's water; it's arid
I want this future
Which will only be ours
Love you, I beg you

You'd even forget
(that) Yourself (you) forget
You'd even forget
(that) You forget me

You'd even forget
(that) Yourself (you) forget
You'd even forget
(that) You forget me

1. The French word "Cernes" is a common noun (here in the plural) that means "dark circle under the eyes." But there's also the French verb: "Cerner," which means "To surround" (to encircle a herd) or even "understand" ("to surround" in the sense of identifying a problem, perceiving every aspect of it, all its consequences). The words appear two times in the song (later in the song under its verbal formal and conjugated to the third person of the singular) but in both meanings of the term. Indeed, during its second appearance, it's used in a metaphor that subtly uses the two possible meanings of the verb since the person asks him to "identify" the words as one "surrounds" livestock (herd, horde). The author wants it to create a kind of literal rebound.

2 . "identify" or even here, "I catch" (sub-emphasis: The words you'd like me to understand the first, without any possible doubt) could work too. Read the explanation on tag number 1.
