I heard this tune at the Pece Atanasovski Festival of Folk Songs and Instruments near Dolneni, Macedonia in 2009. I participated that year and was awarded the "Zlatna Gaida". This recording is from 2012.
The instrument I am playing is a bagpipe from Macedonia and is called Gaida. I started playing this instrument in 2006 and have learned mostly by ear with the recordings of Pece Atanasovski and help from a family friend and fellow Gaida player Nick. Thanks also to the Gaida players on youtube who have offered their advice, encouragement, and compliments (Cory Dale, Risto Todoroski, Vasili Haralambous, Ernesto Fisher, and Linsey Pollak).
This is the first video I have posted in a long time, thanks to my friend who offered to record me with his HD camera.
