This video explain purging gas volume calculation for SS/ALLOY piping works

For TIG welding purging shall be maintained during welding of root pass and subsequent hot pass ,till thickness of weld around 4.5 mm

For stainless steel purging shall be given by using nitrogen / argon
For alloy steel P9/P5 purging shall be given by using argon
