Professionals have used this volatility indicator for decades to improve their trading results. The indicator known as average true range (ATR) can be used to develop a complete trading system or be used for entry or exit signals as part of a strategy.
HOW TO ADD ATR INDICATOR TO YOUR CHART EFFECTIVELY:
Step 1: CLick indicator / technical indicator button
Step 2: Type ATR and click Average True Range under technical indicators tab
Step 3: Make it easier to read by editing ATR's style settings
Step 4: Hover mouse cursor to your entry candle after entering a position
Step 5: Multiply ATR value seen in that candlestick to two (2)
Step 6: Use Long Position / Short Position tools to easily find your stop loss price
Step 7: Set Take Profit e.g. 1:1.5, 1:2, or even more depending on your risk management style

A rule of thumb is to multiply the ATR by two to determine a reasonable stop-loss point. So if you're buying a stock, you might place a stop-loss at a level twice the ATR below the entry price. If you're shorting a stock, you would place a stop-loss at a level twice the ATR above the entry price
