Leading mobility company Toyota Motor Philippines has energized its electrified vehicle lineup anew with the introduction of another highly anticipated subcompact vehicle, the All-New Toyota Yaris Cross.
As the latest addition to the automotive leader’s widest range of electrified vehicle offerings, the All-New Yaris Cross is expected to intensify Toyota’s drive for carbon neutral mobility with its attractive price point, making it Toyota’s most affordable electrified vehicle yet.
Size-wise, it is 4,310mm long, 1,770mm wide, and 1,615mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,620mm and a ground clearance of 212mm.
In terms of looks, the all-new Yaris Cross takes cues from other Toyota models such as the RAV4 and the North American-market Highlander crossovers, wearing the brand’s “Solid & Dynamic” design language.
The front profile looks quite upright and similar to the Highlander SUV. The trapezium-shaped grille, sharp LED headlamps, and skid plate also give it an aggressive look. Thanks to the squared wheel arches and black cladding, the SUV has a mildly rugged appeal too. The upright stance continues with the roofline design as well. Its rear profile seems inspired by the globally sold Corolla Cross, which also gets the angular tailgate, sharp LED tail lamps, and body cladding integrated into the rear bumper.
Inside, the Yaris Cross can comfortably accommodate up to five occupants. The driver enjoys a stylish and straightforward front cabin with physical controls for the automatic climate control system. Leather seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat are available in the top-end trims. All variants have a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, a digital meter cluster, a seven-inch TFT multi-information display, and various storage compartments.
For entertainment, the Yaris Cross comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Under the hood, the Yaris Cross gets two different engines. The entry-level G and the mid-spec V use a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine that’s capable of making up to 104 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque.
The top-spec S meanwhile, is propelled by a 1.5-liter hybrid. Its combustion component alone is good for 89 horsepower and 121 Nm of torque but its electric motor adds 78 horsepower. This comes up to 109 horsepower of total output.
it has a starting price of 1,199,000 Philippine peso for the G CVT trim, followed by 1,296,000 Philippine peso for the V CVT, and the S HEV model goes for 1,598,000 Philippine peso.
