Fall 2023 conditions in the Philly area made for some epic days in the saddle.   The consistently mild temps created sustained vibrant foliage and there was just enough moisture and precipitation to keep the leaves from drying out and completely inundating the trails.  This led to one of the best and longest "prime" fall seasons in recent memory and I took full advantage trying to get out as much as possible.  Today's ride was from a mid November morning in the Wiss and it was truly all-time fall time!   Enjoy!

If you're just finding out about the Wiss..
The Wissahickon Valley Park, or the Wiss as us locals call it, is home to the best mountain biking in Philadelphia and likely one of the best urban trail systems in the US.   Located just a few miles from downtown Philadelphia, The Wiss has nearly 30 miles of single and double track that comprise a loop which follows the walls of valleys created by the Wissahickon and Cresheim Creeks.   There is terrain for all skill levels ranging from recently built flow to more old school rocky tech with everything in between.   It's super easy to navigate, as you can always drop down to Forbidden Drive, a wide gravel path that follows the creek from one end to the other, which allows for a bail out to get back to the car.
