This younger male patient came
This younger male patient came for filler for the first time, and wanted a little boost and added hydration to his lip, and desired a noticeable result without looking too overdone. Typically, for men, Dr. Emer recommends against getting fuller, plump, and voluptuous lips, because it looks unnatural. Instead, he will receive a subtle enhancement with Volbella for Juvederm o give him natural volume without anyone knowing he’s had anything done.
While his lips have a nice ratio, his upper lip is noticeably bigger than the lower, so the goal is to create an ideal lip ratio (1/3 top, 2/3 bottom), and add shaping, to give his face a more balanced and harmonious appearance. By injecting micro-aliquots of a small amount of filler into the belly of the lip, volume is carefully and meticulously added.
Two pinches in the middle on both sides will help to give his bottom lip more projection and natural eversion, for a more pronounced pucker. Then a v-angle is injected on both sides to extend the lip forward on each angle. By subtly enhancing his columns, his lips will have more of a pink-show, and be just slightly plumper.
