*Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on Outdoor Power Equipment. Manuals can be found at the manufacturers website.*
Remove the Kohler regulator rectifier and find the part number on the bottom or back of the regulator. Once the part number is known, go to:
http://www.kohlerplus.com
and input the part number to find a description of the part. The description will tell you charging system amperage your Kohler engine uses. It will be either a 15, 20 or 25 amp system. Most systems are 15 amp.
