In-depth case study of the severe weather outbreak that occurred across Arizona on October 5-6, 2010. In this video, I discuss the meteorological environment that produced supercells with significant severe hail across the Phoenix metro area on October 5 and the main portion of the tornado outbreak on the morning of October 6 across northern Arizona. This outbreak - the biggest to ever occur west of the Rockies - featured multiple long-track, strong tornadoes, an extreme rarity for Arizona.
