Spicy Beetroot Recipes

Beetroot is an identified super food which promises health and exhibits an exciting flavor and color. Beetroot is much more than just a vegetable, is loaded with nutrients and when added to preparations, it brings awesome flavor to our food.

Ingredients

250 gms medium beetroot cubed to small size
2 tsp Moong Daal ( Green Beans)
2 tablespoon oil
4 to 5 green chilies
1 sprig curry leaves
coriander (finely chopped)

¾ tsp mustard
¾ tsp jeera / cumin
¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
Salt as needed
Salt to taste

PREPARATION:

1. keep the pan on the stove top. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan & add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.
2. Then add 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add curry leaves and green chillies, Saute
4. Add moong dal, and sauté.

5. Add  Salt and Mix well....
6. Add turmeric powder and Red Chili powder and sauté well
7. Add cubed beetroot and saute for a min. and Cover the lid cook on a low heat until soft and cooked completely.

8. Once done, saute for another minute and Spicy Beetroot is ready to go.
