"The Iranian horses include the Turkmen full-blooded horses. These horses are great for jumping. They are beautiful and have pretty faces. They do not have a big body though and can not take part in high level show jumping competitions. They are great and suitable for jumping heights below 1/20 to 1/30 metres."

"I think humans can get used to everything. If we had not competed in this Islamic full covering when we started this sport, we would have not been competing in it this easily. We started learning this sport with this clothing and have got along with it. It does not seem to be a problem for us."

17. SOUNDBITE (English) Ali Samdi, competitions coordinator:
"It is very good, it is one of the only sports in Iran that we are seeing female riders alongside male riders competing in one sport together and our national team is now going for the Doha Asian Games. As part of the three persons that are going to the games, we have one female rider which is something to be very proud of in Iran.  We hope in future years, the number of female competitors can rise and make this sport much more pleasant for everyone involved."
