Authorities captured a convicted murderer on Friday morning after his escape led to a multiple-day manhunt. Ramone Alston, 30, was arrested in a Kannapolis hotel early Friday morning. The operation included FBI Charlotte SWAT agents, and the Kannapolis Police and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police departments. He had escaped in Orange County, North Carolina, while authorities were taking him to the UNC Hospitals Hillsborough campus. Alston was wearing handcuffs connected to a belly chain with a black box over the junction when he fled. The state had offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the Alston's arrest. Now that he has been caught, Alston will be charged with felony escape from prison and was taken to a high security unit in the state prison system. He will continue serving his life sentence for first-degree murder and will await court appearances for his escape charges, according to Charlotte's FBI office. #News #Crime READ MORE: www.wcnc.com/article/news/crime/convicted-murderer…
