In this video we have an HP ENVY laptop that has a broken DC input charging jack. A Hewlett-Packard laptop with this problem will have intermittent charging, or not be able to charge at all (white LED instead of amber). Even if charging, the HP laptop will run the CPU in a low performance mode slowing things down to a crawl. The HP AC adapter will also fail the HP diagnostics test. So I'll go over how to test the HP AC adapter, how to identify the HP part number of the DC jack cable for your model HP laptop, and how to disassembly and replace the DC power input jack cable assembly in Hewlett-Packard Envy laptops. As part of the HP laptop disassembly I'll show: - Removing the bottom case cover - Removing the Ethernet jack - Removing the battery - Removing the CPU cooling fan - Disconnecting the motherboard cables and harnesses - Removing the DC power input jack retaining bracket and cable assembly And of course, reassembling it all back together again and testing to confirm a good repair. The specific laptop in this vid is an HP ENVY M6-AE151DX model, but the part 812681-001 we're replacing in this video is common to many HP laptop models under the Pavilion and ENVY branding. As I show in the video, this part supersedes all previous part numbers for the DC charge jack assembly, such as 799736-T57.
