This week we visited Glacier National Park near Revelstoke British Columbia for the first time in our lives. It is truly a HIKERS HEAVEN. We camped at the Illecillewaet Campground which acts as the perfect basecamp with an unbelievable network of hiking trails stemming off from the campsite.
Our first hike of the weekend was Abbot Ridge, one of the most spectacular ‘bang for your buck’ hikes in the park. It did not disappoint. The Abbot ridge trail leads you past Marion Lake, through a pristine Alpine meadow onto a rocky ridge on cliffs edge with unbeatable 360 degree views of the park.
If you are feeling adventurous I would recommend hiking past the end of the Canada Parks marked trail and continuing on the ridge to the baby blue Alpine lake and tackling the beginner/moderate scramble to the top of Abbot Peak!
Abbot Ridge needs to be on your hiking bucket list!
