The holy river Ganga starts its journey in the Himalayas and then descends to the plains to nurture and nourish the nation like a mother does - with eternal love and care. In the same way, the light of knowledge of the sages has been serving and nourishing the Indian culture and the world incessantly. This is the result of the long standing tradition of the master-disciple which has guided us generation after generation. We will forever be indebted to the Gurus for this tradition. To realise this knowledge and to share it with others alone will be the true expression of our gratitude to Upanishad Ganga.
This episode portrays the story of Adi Shankaracharya and his disciple – Giri, who was apparently unable to comprehend the scriptures well. So much so, that his fellow students felt that his presence in the class was as good as the walls listening. Giri's only wish and concern was about serving his master and carrying the Guru-shishya tradition forward. But how would such a student do so? To see the seemingly impossible become possible – definitely watch this episode!
