Thunder Force V Saturn vs PlayStation

For best results view at 1080p60fps. Here it is folks, one of the games I had in mind when I started my channel.  That's right we have a comparison of the Saturn and PlayStation versions of Thunder Force V!  General consensus says that the Saturn version is better but I've recently seen the PlayStation version recommended as the superior version.  So which is it?

This is a long one, I was originally only going to show clips from the game illustrating differences, but that didn't really seem fair so here's the whole the game on both platforms with the good ending reached on both of them.  Feel free to skip around to the parts you care about.  Level 3 is the biggest difference between the two games visually.
