Todays video is all about the new Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 25. The biggest issue with these new minifigs, is the packaging. In past iterations, Lego minifigs were sold in plastic bags, and there was a respected “feeling” system to aid in the identification of them. But now, Lego has made that go away. With these new boxes, I have heard 3 ways of identifying them, and today I want to test all three out. I have 19 days of research into this project, and put my trust into the internet (not the best thing to trust). The first way to identify these new minifigs is to scan the dot matrix code at the bottom, by doing this, you will get a string of data. In that data is a number, you can cross reference that number to a list of the minifigs found on reddit forums, this will tell you what figure you have. Next method is to probe the box with a ear canal camera. This method is very intrusive and brutal, but works with ease. The third way has to do with there being two different types of codes on these boxes. The earlier boxes have the small dot matrix codes, but the later have a larger QR codes. If you have the newer, you can use an app called Brick Search to easily identify the figure without reading data, or brute forcing a camera into the box. This video went off the rails badly, we had all the older dot matrix codes on our 9 figures. So using Brick Search was out as a way of testing, so we went onto the other 2 ways. The dot matrix reading apps, that should’ve worked on our boxes, did not provide the data needed to identify our figures. I now believe this solely works only with the newer QR codes, and people were confused when making there posts on the method. So for our nine, the only accurate way to identify them with out opening was with the ear canal camera. Maybe later I will find the larger codes to test the 3rd way, and complete my collection. We managed to get 8 minifigs from the 9 we bought. The ones we got were, Film Noir Detective, Vampire Knight, Sprinter, Goatherd, Fitness Instructor, Triceratops Costume Fan, Train Kid, and Pet Groomer. The extra we got was the Goatherd. This video was supposed to be supper fun, and was exited to make it. But it did go off the rails, still I hope there is some solid info in this video for you. I hope you all enjoyed this video, and the history I shared. As always please comment your thoughts down below. If you enjoyed the video please Like, Share, and Subscribe! Thank you for watching!
