Plantar Fasciitis is a common condition among Veterans and is rated by VA on a scale of 10 to 40%. Veterans with plantar fasciitis receive higher VA ratings if the condition affects both feet (bilateral) and is considered not responsive to treatment.  Veterans can also be eligible for secondary service connection for plantar fasciitis, often associated with pes planus (flat feet).

VA changed the rating criteria for this condition in early 2021, adding a diagnostic code specifically for plantar fasciitis. Tune in for a breakdown of VA ratings for plantar fasciitis in under 5 minutes!
