The standing straight bar cable pullover is an effective exercise using the cable machine to target the lat muscles in the back.

Here's how to do it properly:
1. Adjust the pulley to a high position, then clip on a straight bar, and grasp it with an overhand grip, slightly wider than shoulder width.
2. Take a step or two back from the cable machine, ensuring your arms can stretch out fully.
3. Angle your torso forward about 30 degrees, keeping that core solid, then fire up those lat muscles to smoothly bring the bar down with straight arms until it touches your thighs.
4. Maintain control as you bring the bar back up to the starting point, ensuring your lats remain engaged.
5. Repeat for reps.
