Kurd, Syrian Forces Battle Turkey-Backed Troops

Intense fighting was reported early Saturday, November 23, between Kurdish-led Syrian fighters and forces backed by Turkey, outside of the town of Ein Issa.
Syrian government troops are also deployed in the town, formerly an administrative center for Kurdish-led forces, after US troops stationed there withdrew.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), of which the YPG (People's Protection Units) are a main component, said Turkish forces launched attacks with tanks, artillery and a large number of fighters. (AP)
