In 2020, the Makran IFV,
In 2020, the Makran IFV, an upgraded and upsized copy of the BTR-50 APC, was introduced. The vehicle is produced and designed by the Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization. While the Makran is technically an infantry fighting vehicle, it has a large troop compartment as it is based on the BTR-50, allowing it to dual function as an armoured personnel carrier.
The Makran retains a similar layout to the original BTR-50, maintaining several key characteristics, with the addition of several modifications such as a new unmanned combat module, dubbed the Raad-2.
