The freedom and facilities that are present in our society today were not there till years ago. We all were bound by a lot of customs and practices. One of these practices was that of scavenging. The manual scavengers used to go from house to house cleaning the latrines.

हमारे समाज में आज जो स्वतंत्रता और सुविधाएं मौजूद हैं वो सालों पहले तक नहीं थी। हम सभी को ढेर सारी रूढ़ियों और प्रथाओं ने जकड़ा हुआ था। इसमें से एक प्रथा मैला ढोने की भी थी। मैला ढोने वाले लोग घर-घर जाकर शौचालयों की सफाई करते थे।
