The Little Bluestem prairie grass
The Little Bluestem prairie grass has now been positively identified, and is doing very well. Now I know what to look for next year when I plant little bluestem in the other prairie patches.I also take a final look at the vineyard now that all of the leaves have fallen. Next year I hope to make a little wine as well as sell the rest of the harvest. Wish me luck!
I update the American Chestnut's progress as well. It's doing fantastic considering the fact that it was girdled by rabbits this spring and was cut back to a stump. It is now four feet tall and looking very healthy! And lastly I look at the pastures to see how much more time the horses have before they need to be confined to the dry lot for the winter.
