RISE | Pingxi Lantern Festival

The Lantern Festival is the day that marks the end of lunar new year, different areas have different ways to celebrate this day. In Pingxi, Taiwan, people do so by setting off lanterns. In the past, it was a way to signal the villagers that the village is safe and in peace; today, people write their wishes on the lanterns so their prayers could be heard by god.
