Best Workout Split for a Natural Bodybuilder. The perfect split for you will depend on your genetics and muscle fibre make up. If you have a higher fast twitch fibre content, then perhaps a lower frequency will be right for you because fast twitch fibres do recover at a slower rate and have a tendency to break down more easily. The good news is that fast twitch fibres are bigger so they contribute to higher amounts of muscle mass gains than slow twitch fibres. Slow twitch fibres on the other hand are a little more hardy, and resist break down and are smaller in diameter, but they have a tendency to recover faster and contribute to endurance more so than all out power. A person with higher slow twitch fibres will respond better to higher frequency training.
