Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was an Indian social reformer, writer, and thinker who lived from 1827 to 1890. He played a key role in fighting against caste-based discrimination and worked towards the education and empowerment of women and marginalized communities in India. He was the founder of the Satya Shodhak Samaj, an organization aimed at promoting social equality and justice. Phule's writings and activism challenged the traditional Brahminical social order and advocated for the upliftment of the oppressed and downtrodden. He is remembered as one of the pioneers of the social reform movement in India and his ideas continue to inspire people fighting against social injustice and inequality.
महात्मा गांधी से पहले देश में एक ऐसे महान समाज-सुधारक पैदा हुए, जिन्होंने छुआछूत, अशिक्षा, सामाजिक कुरीतियों को खत्म करने और किसानों की स्थिति सुधारने और समाज में महिलाओं को उनके अधिकार दिलाने का उल्लेखनीय काम किया। उनका नाम था- महात्मा ज्योतिबा फुले। महात्मा ज्योतिबा फुले को 19वी सदी का प्रमुख समाज सेवक माना जाता है। उनका जन्म 11 अप्रैल 1827 को महाराष्ट्र के पुणे में माली परिवार में हुआ। 24 सितंबर 1873 को दलितों और निर्बल वर्ग को न्याय दिलाने के लिए ज्योतिबा फुले ने ‘सत्यशोधक समाज’ स्थापित किया। 28 नवम्बर 1890 को ज्योतिबा फुले ने इस संसार को हमेशा के लिए अलविदा कह दिया।
