Photo Slideshow: C&O No. 2789 Takes to the Rails for the First Time in 30 Years

On October 17, 2020, the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum moved their former Chesapeake & Ohio Kanawha No. 2789 one and a half miles to a temporary display site for public viewing during a community event. This was the first time the 2789 traveled beyond the HVRM shop complex since the late 1980s when it was moved to the museum from a park in Peru, Indiana. HVRM is currently in the process of cosmetically restoring the 2789, and is also raising funds for an eventual restoration to operating condition. For more information, go to www.hoosiervalley.org.
