All-new 2024 BYD Yuan UP - Best Compact Electric SUV | Yuan UP Specs Features
The Chinese automotive giant BYD has Revealed the Yuan UP, which is the brand’s new Compact electric crossover SUV built on the e-Platform 3.0. This new electric SUV takes its place below the ATTO3 in the market, offering a compact and dynamic driving experience. The Yuan UP will compete against the Jeep Avenger and will reportedly go on sale in China this year in March. In Europe, it is likely to be launched as Atto 2.
In terms of exterior design, the BYD Yuan UP features the distinctive Dragon Face design language. The front grille proudly displays the model name, inspired by the Yuan (元) dynasty, complemented by slim headlights featuring horizontal DRL lights. Below, the front bumper adopts a spacious design in the shape of a black inverted U, enhanced with chrome trim forming two inverted U shapes aligned side by side.
The New Yuan UP will feature a floating roof, enhancing its overall spacious and airy appearance. The frameless doors, coupled with a subtle decorative touch in the form of rows of lamp trims on all four wheel arches, contribute to its aesthetic appeal. The alloy wheel set will be offered in sizes ranging from 16 to 17 inches.
The rear of the Yuan UP comes with a set of LED Bar tail lights that fill the entire space at the back like modern cars. Enhance the sportiness with a left-right roof spoiler. It comes with a shark fin antenna while the rear bumper has the same design as the front bumper. By installing a silver shockproof card.
In terms of dimensions, the Yuan UP measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
Within the BYD Yuan UP's interior, you'll find a dashboard housing an 8.8-inch LCD display positioned behind a sizable 4-spoke D-shaped steering wheel, proudly displaying the Yuan logo at its center.
The central screen, sized at 12.8 inches, is situated in a floating position. It offers both vertical and horizontal rotation and includes a heads-up display that projects information onto the windshield.
The seating capacity of the BYD Yuan UP is for five passengers, with perforated artificial leather covering the seats. Both the driver's side and front passenger seat are electrically adjustable. The rear seats are equipped with armrests, and each seating position features a headrest.
The redesigned center console seamlessly integrates with the front console panel and features a lower compartment for small item storage. At the top, there's a wireless smartphone charger, along with a crystal gear lever and a pair of cup holders. It also includes a set of buttons like Start/Stop, AutoHold, Hazard light buttons, etc., concluding with a spacious glass roof.
in terms of powertrain, there will be two options to choose from: a single electric motor with a maximum power of 94 horsepower, and an electric motor boasting a maximum power of 174 horsepower. Both options will be capped at a speed of 160 km per hour.
Regarding the battery packs for both models, they will be equipped with LFP batteries manufactured by Wuwei Findream Co., a subsidiary of BYD. The available capacities are 32 kWh and 45.1 kWh. When fully charged, these batteries enable a respective driving range of 301 km and 401 km.
The 2024 BYD Yuan UP is expected to be priced starting from £20200 to £23500.
In China, the starting price is anticipated to be around 100,000 yuan.
