President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. brought more than PhP70 million worth of government assistance to the Provinces of Batangas, Laguna and Quezon in Region IV-A or CALABARZON as he visited the Municipality of San Jose in Batangas on July 11, 2024.
“Narito po ako ngayon, kasama ang mga iba pang opisyal ng pamahalaan, upang ipaabot ang aming taus-pusong pasasalamat sa inyong sipag at pagpupunyagi. Kami po ay mag-aabot ng kaunting tulong sa ating mga magsasaka, mangingisda, at kanilang mga pamilya na labis na naapektuhan ng El Niño,” the President remarked in his keynote message.
A total of 30 select beneficiaries, comprised of farmers and fisherfolk from the three (3) aforementioned Provinces, received PhP10,000 each to aid in their livelihoods as they continue to recover from the devastating impacts of El Niño.
Likewise, the Provincial Governments of Batangas, Laguna and Quezon were given Presidential assistance while various forms of government aid were distributed to identified beneficiaries.
“Ngunit, higit pa sa mga tulong at serbisyong ito, kami po ay patuloy na kumikilos upang palakasin ang ekonomiya ng CALABARZON. Mula noong 2023 hanggang 2024, nakapagbigay na po tayo ng halos sampung (10) bilyong piso para sa Philippine Rural Development Plan ng Region 4-A. Kabilang sa mga ginagawa natin dito sa inyong rehiyon ay ang Taal Lake Circumferential Road at ng Lobo Malabrigo–San Juan Laiya Road. Nariyan din po pala ang Quipot Irrigation Project at Macalelon Irrigation Project sa kalapit na lalawigan ng Quezon na malapit na rin pong matapos,” the Chief Executive added.
President Marcos Jr. recognized the hard work and efforts of farmers and fisherfolk, as well as gave his firm assurance that the Administration will continue to support them in their journey towards securing a brighter future for their families under the vision of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas.’
