This young adolescent gorilla has been frequenting our mirrors for 4 years. He has made significant progress in his learning to mirror especially in the gorilla’s most famous gesture the chest-beating, standing on two legs. He does hit his chest alternately with cupped hands for a warning before an attack, but to admire himself in the mirror. He understood that the reflection is himself.

Ce jeune gorille adolescent fréquente nos miroirs depuis 4 ans. Il a fait des progrès significatifs dans son apprentissage du miroir, en particulier dans le geste le plus célèbre du gorille à savoir les battements du torse, debout sur deux pattes. Il frappe sa poitrine en alternance avec ses mains ouvertes non pas pour un avertissement avant une attaque, mais pour s'admirer dans le miroir car il a compris que son reflet, est lui-même.
