La Mesa (Calif.) Helix HS senior Jake Reed strikes out two batters and homers during a May 16 Grossmont-Hills League game against the Steele Canyon Cougars. The 6-foot-2, 175 pound right-hander is a University of Oregon commit. Reed was selected by the New York Yankees in the 40th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
