FULL FARM tour and the REAL reason we moved off grid to PORTUGAL!

We are the Scotters! A family of five…oh, and one incredible little cat called Crumbs!

We have always had a dream of showing our children the world, teaching them to leave their comfort zones and always reach for their dreams, and what better way to teach them than to bring them along on our dream.

We sold everything we own and left the UK in December 2021 for a year of travelling in our self-converted Mercedes bus. We had the most incredible year with the children exploring Europe, visiting 10 different countries and along the way, we absolutely fell in love with Portugal.

In November 2022 our dreams came true and we bought our own slice of paradise in Northern Portugal, about 40 minutes from Porto. We have forests and rivers, space and sunshine and have huge plans to create a self sufficient, minimal-impact family homestead, building everything ourselves. We hope that it will teach our children how to build from the earth up, all the while respecting Mother Nature, and that by doing this all together as a family, that they too will aways and forever be brave enough to follow their dreams, no matter how big they might be.
