Yea you can of course just go to a store and buy some glue. But where's the fun in that? This guide on how to make 5 types of glue can be useful if you need a fun craft project or if you need to impress some preschool children!
Maybe it's a late night, you're in desperate need of glue, but you haven't bought a bottle of glue in years. Use this guide to make different types of glue with common household supplies!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Flour
- Water
- Unflavored Gelatin
- Skim Milk
- Corn Starch
- Syrup
- White Vinegar
- Salt
STEPS:
Basic Glue:
1. (00:35) Add 1⁄2 cup of flour into a pot
2. (00:39) Slowly add in water until the texture becomes thick
3. (00:44) Heat for 5 minutes on low heat while stirring
Waterproof Glue:
1. (01:11) Add 2 tablespoons of water into a bowl
2. (01:16) Sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin in and let it stand for an hour
3. (01:25) Add in 3 tablespoons of heated skim milk
4. (01:30) Mix everything together
Corn Starch Glue:
1. (1:53) Boil 3⁄4 cup of water over medium heat
2. (1:58) Add in 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, 1⁄4 cup of cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon of white vinegar
3. (2:05) Mix everything together to make the texture thick
4. (2:09) In a container, mix together 1⁄4 cup of water and 1⁄4 cup of cornstarch
5. (2:19) Heat the previous mixture for 3 minutes
6. (2:33) Mix in the previous mixture into the container
Paper Mache Glue:
1. (2:48) Add 1⁄4 cup of flour into 1 cup of room temperature water
2. (2:53) Heat 5 cups of water into a light boil
3. (2:58) Stir in the previous mixture, boil it for 2 minutes, then let it cool for 2 minutes
No Cook Glue:
1. (3:25) Add 1⁄2 cup of flour into a bowl
2. (3:30) Stir in water until the texture gets sticky
3. (3:35) Add in two pinches of salt
