Bavarian Alpine foothills and its lakes, the German Alpine Road: In the Bavarian Alpine foothills region near the Austrian border there are over 3,000 hiking tours - past typical alpine farms and traces of the people who used to live here. The great thing: the view of the Alps, and the next mountain lake awaits behind every peak.
The German Alpine Road is Germany's oldest holiday route and leads right through the Allgäu. The 450-kilometer route starts in Lindau, ends at Königssee and leads through a beautiful landscape with many highlights. If you want to go all the way and enjoy the views and sights, you should plan at least 14 days.
