The True Meaning of Forgiveness

Here is a partial transcript: What's happened in the last ten thousand years with humanity? There's been war, slavery, holocaust, displacement, famine, cold - all kinds of experiences that have etched into us. Most of our ancestors didn't clean it up. Did your parents take responsibility for everything as it came up and move forward? Mind didn't either.
We just have to clean up what's in us and there's a formula or recipe that's very simple and involves humility, gratitude, the Creator in some form... If you're Jewish or Christian or Hindu or even agnostic, it doesn't matter. It's the same energy no matter what we call it. The word is more for us, do we agree with that? So we use the power of forgiveness - what does forgiveness mean? Who's on my weekly call series? Forgiveness means release, letting go, to forgo - it means to offer up. Most of us have been trying to 'get rid of' or understand - "If I could just understand why they did what they did, then I'll feel better." Well that really doesn't work, does it? Because they change the rules; just when we have our spouse or relative figured out, then what do they do? They change the rules. "Wait a minute. You're not supposed to do that. I had it all figured out in my mind. It didn't unfold the way it was supposed to."
What we need to do is get to the root of what we carry. The early versions of us are in our body running our life. Something inside, like a puppet, is pulling the strings. That's why someone who is overweight for thirty years and it's not coming off. 'They' are not overeating - it's the early versions of them that are trying to get validation. They're trying to be heard.
