In the eight month of pregnancy baby can weigh from 2- 2.5 kg.Baby gently assumes a head down position which will be required ultimately for a normal delivery.Baby has a good thick hair on the head.Eyes can open fully.The nails reach the tip of the fingers so that they can cover the entire finger tips.The layer of waxy fatty substance called vernix caseosa starts increasing over the baby which appear as a white layer once baby is born.If the baby is born at this time baby has more than 90% chance of survival..
