In this chapter we will discuss about Merton strain theory. Merton talks about how society provides us opportunities to become deviant. he also talked about social means and cultural goals. He categories people into different terms under the umbrella of conformity, innovation, ritualism, retreat-ism, and rebellions. In these categories people follow the society norms and achieve cultural goals and some people most of the time reject these two sources of cultural norms and cultural means.
