BoJack Horseman desperately desires connection and understanding, but he often fumbles the bag when attempting to receive these things from his friends and relations. He ignores boundaries, actively self-sabotages, and consumes a Herculean amount of drugs. No matter how hard he makes it for them, though, BoJack’s romantic partners always challenge him to change and improve his outlook on life, to varying degrees of success.
