Many beginner digitizers ask if it is possible to make a design smaller.  Yes, it is possible as long as you have the original digitizing file.  There are a few things you have to do, paying specific attention to the detail work.   We are working in Hatch Embroidery software for this class, but you can apply the beginner digitizing skills to any machine embroidery software.  Learning how to digitize a smaller design - and the differences in detail work from a small embroidery design to a large design can take some practice, but this class is a great place to start!!

In this class, we are going to digitize a cute cat - the cat design is not too complicated, but we do our workflow smoothly - and plot out our design from the back to front.  The JPEG for this design can be downloaded from the Facebook Group OML Embroidery university - and once you download the image, you are all set to start digitizing.

In this video we explore a few ways to do the same result, so you can try some different methods to accomplish your goals.

Once we have completed the design, we take that design and make it considerably smaller to show you that changing the size of the designs does make a big difference - we change the types of stitches and add some angle lines to fix up the smaller design so that it looks as good as the large design!

Improve your embroidery skills and join me to digitize a cute cat!
