Presenting Every Version Of Dawood Ibrahim From Worst To Best In Bollywood Movies such as:
*Akshay kumar in once upon a time in mumbai dobara 2013: The sequel to Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, the movie starts where the last one left us. The difference, this one is a more pronounced love story. The movie follows the gangster’s journey out of his beloved city and into the realms of terror. A love story conveniently sits between the narratives and gives it a softer edge. Though not as successful as its first instalment, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara had a decent run at the theatres.
*Vinod khanna in risk 2007: The comeback vehicle of Vinod Khanna, the movie had Randeep Hooda and Tanushree Dutta as well. Khanna played a Don who controls Mumbai from a far off land; sounds familiar? The movie was promoted as the story of Mumbai’s lost boy turned gangster, Dawood. The movie however also had a strong cop played by Hooda on the hunt for this gangster. The movie failed to impress at the Box Office but is still considered to be one of the cults in understanding the mechanisms of Mumbai mafia.
*Sonu sood in shootout at wadala 2013: The shootout series gave another one of Mumbai’s encounters of Dawood’s group's men and his confidants. The movie initially had real names of both Dawood and his elder brother. The names were later changed to avoid disruptions in release and a peaceful runtime.
*Vijay maurya in black friday 2007: Anurag Kashyap ’s bold and brazen take on the shambles of Mumbai in the wake of the 1993 blasts is Black Friday. The events that led up to the fatal killings of innocent Indians and the events that shaped the city post it, is all captured in their most gruelling faces. Politics, religion, terror and a story that binds all this together makes the movie worth watching.
*Imran hashmi in once upon a time in mumbai 2010: Ekta Kapoor brought to fore the ‘making of Dawood’. The movie is set in Mumbai and the emerging mafia trends in the city. Starting petty and the lack of an identity that forced a young boy to transition from being a directionless youth to the most sought after criminal in the country is Kapoor’s story. Packed with soulful music and stellar performances, the movie went to become a big Box Office hit.
*Randeep hooda in D 2005: There have been several rumours about Dawood’s affair with a leading Bollywood lady of his times. D talks about this affair and how it came to being. But more than that, the movie wherein Randeep Hooda plays the Don, traces the origin of Mumbai’s most feared monster from being an innocent bystander to the man we know today.
*Rishi kapoor in D day 2013: Rishi Kapoor ’s character is so unapologetically Dawood, it gives us chills. The peculiar use of Marathi by a Don living in Pakistan, the staff that knows Mumbai inside out and better than the by-lanes of Rawalpindi, and a R.A.W. operation for the assassination of one of the most wanted criminals of India gives us a taste of a manhunt we wished would take place.
*Ajay devgan in company 2002: Ram Gopal Varma is known for his obsession with Dawood’s life. Company deals with the financial moorings of a mafia organization. Seen through the eyes of a new “recruit”, the film focuses on the economics of all the operations involved in killings, kidnappings and other illegal activities that happen in the city. Ajay Devgan ’s character drew stark resemblance to that of the Don Mumbai has known pretty well.
