In this video #27 Construction PM Principles, I discuss how important scheduling and flow are to a project. Wow! this is exciting stuff, what difference it can make using smaller batches and zones to make the work, flow. One would never think that until you lay it out in a scheduling software like MS Project. You can test it and determine the optimum batch size that will provide a rhythm to the workflow. Of course this also requires coordination of the management and trades team to make it all work. This requires commitment and engagement of the stakeholders. Last Planner System can help ensure that this take place. I use MS Project software to help you better visualize the opportunities for condensing and improving your schedule.
