In this "Moment in Dance/Movement Therapy," we hear how a 9/11 story, told through the moving bodies of others, allows one dance/movement therapist space to begin the process of healing.

“The woman who needed to tell her story, worked in a psychiatric hospital in Brooklyn directly across the river from the Twin Towers.  She watched in horror as the Towers burned and collapsed.  She was wondering – what is my role at this very moment and how do I respond?  Am I a dance/movement therapist? A supervisor? U.S. citizen? A human being?” ~Sarah Campbell Arnett

Sarah Campbell Arnett, BC-DMT, NCC, LMBT, Certified Coach, worked as a dance/movement therapist for almost 20 years in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in group therapy for adults, adolescents and children. She graduated from Goucher College with an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy. Her internship was at New England Rehab Hospital’s Chronic Pain Unit in Woburn, Massachusetts and her thesis was on the "Effects of Dance/Movement Therapy on the Self Concept of Amputees." She worked at Charter Peachford Hospital in Atlanta and later moved to Greensboro to continue working as a dance/movement therapist at Cone Health.
