Welcome to the Department of Urology and Andrology, Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg.
The Department of Urology and Andrology at the University Hospital Salzburg (SALK) covers the whole range of urology and andrology conditions except kidney transplantation, with a particular focus on oncologic surgery and urolithiasis treatments. As an EBU certified centre the training of residents plays also an important part in the department’s daily work.
The department is involved in research through its partnership with the Paracelsus Medical University and participates in international drug studies. It also offers immunotherapy in case of systemic urothelial cancer and kidney cancer, according to the newest guidelines.
The department successfully uses new techniques that have improved the therapy and diagnosis of urological diseases as well as minimal invasive operations – DaVinci, miniPCNL, RIRS, bipolar enucleation - to shorten the hospitalisation of patients and speed up recovery without risking the oncological results.
