Migrants stuck at Greek-Macedonian border

(20 Nov 2015) Tensions were rising at Macedonia's main border crossing with Greece on Friday, where migrants and refugees had their identity papers checked by police in order to continue their journey.
Macedonia, along with Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, has begun turning away migrants who are not from war zones such as Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski has said the flow of some 10,000 migrants a day has become a "constant burden" on Macedonian resources and called for greater cooperation between the Balkan states and the EU to solve the crisis.
