French : Le musée du quai Branly - Ouvert en 2006, le musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac rassemble les collections issues d’un double héritage : celui du Musée de l’Homme et celui du Musée national des Arts d’Afrique et d’Océanie. Jacques Chirac est l’héritier de 200 ans d’histoire, d’enrichissement, d’étude et de conservation de collections publiques. Il préserve près de 370 000 œuvres originaires d’Afrique, du Proche-Orient, d’Asie, d’Océanie et des Amériques qui illustrent la richesse et la diversité culturelle des civilisations extra-européennes du Néolithique (+/- 10 000 ans) au 20ème siècle.
English: Opened in 2006, the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac brings together collections from a double heritage: that of the Musée de l'Homme and that of the National Museum of the Arts of Africa and Oceania. Jacques Chirac is the heir to 200 years of history, enrichment, study and conservation of public collections. It preserves nearly 370,000 works from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and the Americas which illustrate the richness and cultural diversity of extra-European civilisations from the Neolithic (+/- 10,000 years) in the 20th century.
