How to Calculate Standard Deviations on Excel 2016 for Windows.
Oops! Near the end I messed up on some minor mental calculations. I should have said "What does it mean to have a standard deviation of 1.4 when the mean is 2.5? It means that most scores are within 1 standard deviation of the mean, that is, between 1.1 and 3.9. It also means that almost all scores are within 2 standard deviations of the mean, that is, between -.3 and 5.3. This certainly is the case because because the scores were on a 0 to 5 scale."
The instructions for calculating a standard deviation are fine. It's just the comments in the last 29 seconds that need correcting.
